Wine Country Credit Union is your community Credit Union and we are proud of our tradition of helping people, developed over 40 years, to achieve their goals and realize their dreams.
Wine Country Credit Union has grown into a modern, professional financial institution with up-to-date technology, savings and loans facilities and services including insurances. We’ve come a long way from modest beginnings in Hastings and Napier, when members volunteered their time to keep records of members’ deposits, savings and loans.
We now have over 10,000 accounts in the region; over $20 million in assets and over $17 million out on loan to members.
We understand that successful customers and communities create a successful credit union. We work in partnership with our members and the wider community (schools, businesses and community organisations) to improve their well-being and quality of life.
We are successful because we know our members and understand our community, its economy and its people.
Objectives:
- The promotion of thrift among the members by the accumulation of their savings.
- The use and control of the members’ savings for their mutual benefit.
- The training and education of the members in the wise use of money and in the management of their financial affairs.
Primary Activity:
- To provide a co-operative saving facility for members to form a loan fund.
- To offer other related financial services.
Aims:
- To be responsive to the needs of the members.
- To provide convenient means of access to accounts and services.
- To maintain strong financial direction, ensuring prudential standards are met and capital reserves are increased.
